Day 1 – TOULOUSE / BORDEAUX

Arrival at TOULOUSE airport.

Drive to MOISSAC.

Visit the MOISSAC abbey.

Continue to BORDEAUX.

Sightseeing in BORDEAUX.

Transfer to the Gironde’s Pier for embarkation on a 5 day/4 night cruise.

 

Day 2 – BORDEAUX /PAUILLAC / LE MEDOC

Breakfast on board

You will head down the Garonne River and then connect with the Gironde River, passing Cazeau Island and Patiras Island before arriving in Pauillac.

Optional excursion to visit the Médoc, a renowned region where the world’s most famous red wines are cultivated (Saint Julien, Margaux, Haut-Médoc and the “must see” châteaux of Lafite-Rothschild, Latour, and Mouton Rothschild).

Back on board for dinner, followed by an evening of entertainment provided by our crew.

Overnight.

 

DAY 3 : PAUILLAC / BLAYE / CADILLAC OR LIBOURNE

Breakfast on board

Arrival at Blaye : this superb acropolis was the perfect look-out post to watch for invaders.

Optional excursion along the Corniche, or cliff route snaking alongside the Dordogne River before revealing the Gironde Estuary.

Stop in the village of Bourg, a charming city built on a rocky outcrop enclosed by medieval ramparts.

Back to Blaye : tour of the citadel.

Afternoon, sail to Cadillac.

Gala dinner, followed by an evening of entertainment.

Overnight.

 

DAY 4 : CADILLAC OR LIBOURNE / SAINT-EMILION / BORDEAUX

Breakfast on board.

Optional excursion to Saint-Emilion for a guided tour of the Saint-Emilion’s underground monuments : the fascinating troglodyte settlement of Father Emilion, the Trinity Chapel, the catacombs, and the monolithic church.

Visit a family-run vineyard and wine-producer : the owner will show you the steps involved in producing Saint-Emilion’s great wines. Naturally, we will end our visit with a winetasting.

Cruise back to Bordeaux.

Dinner on board.

Optional guided tour of Bordeaux by night. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bordeaux has obtained the classification of “cultural site” worth discovering. From the boulevards to the banks of the Garonne River, half of the city has also been recognized for the quality of its architectural heritage : The Quinconces District and the Grand Théâtre, the Saint Pierre District.

Back to boat for overnight.

 

Day 5 – PÉRIGUEUX / BEYNAC / LA ROQUE GAGEAC / DOMME

Breakfast on board

Disembarkation.

Drive to PERIGUEUX.

Visit the city of PERIGUEUX.

Drive to BEYNAC.

Visit the BEYNAC castle.

Proceed to LA ROQUE GAGEAC.

Boat trip on the Dordogne River on the archetypal Gabares NORBERT.

Continue to DOMME.

Round trip by little train.

Proceed to SARLAT.

Transfer to your hotel, The Hotel de Compostelle in SARLAT (or a similar hotel).

 

Day 6 – SARLAT / ROCAMADOUR / GOUFFRE DE PADIRAC

Breakfast

Free time in the local market in SARLAT.

Drive to ROCAMADOUR.

Walking visit of ROCAMADOUR.

Continue to PADIRAC.

Visit the Gouffre de Padirac.

Back to SARLAT.

Dinner at a restaurant.

Overnight at the Hotel de Compostelle in SARLAT (or a similar hotel).

 

Day 7 – PECH MERLE / CAHORS / SAINT CIRQ LAPOPIE

Breakfast

Departure to PECH MERLE.

Visit the Grotte du Pech-Merle.

Proceed to CAHORS.

Visit the vineyard and enjoy a wine tasting.

City tour of CAHORS : the Pont Valentré and the old city.

Arrival to SAINT CIRQ LAPOPIE.

Cruise on the Lot River from Saint Cirq Lapopie to Bouzies.

Walking tour of the village of SAINT CIRQ LAPOPIE.Back to SARLAT.

Dinner at a restaurant.

Overnight at the Hotel de Compostelle.

 

Day 8 – TOULOUSE / BACK HOME

Breakfast

City Tour of TOULOUSE (including the Jacobins Church, Basilique St Sernin, Place du Capitole and the Canal du Midi).

Transfer to the airport.

Check-in and take off.
